Some good news… my wrist is getting better. Most days I don’t have to wear the splint, and I don’t have pain. But I decided I’d been pushing things a bit in my desire to get sewing again, so I’m taking the rest of the month off to make sure my wrist is good and healed.

But not sewing doesn’t stop me from dreaming and planning.

My first plan is to take a lovely fabric from a nightgown, and make it into a tee.

    Oh, I love this fabric. I love the colors, and of course it’s cotton. You all know I love cotton.

So, I played with AI a little to see some different ideas I had sketched out. First, here’s my inspiration. This is a Land’s End tee with lace insets. Just lovely. 

So what would my  nightgown look like with a lace inset? Here’s what AI suggested.

That’s cute and all, but not quite what I was wanting. As well, I don’t have that suggested lace. On to the next idea I had.

Since I don’t have that lace, or even a co-ordinating lace, I thought about ruffles. What would ruffles look like?

    The ruffle is adorable. And it put on a double ruffle. Double adorable. But the lace was still on the bottom. So we tried again.  This time I got a cute hem ruffle, and a single sleeve ruffle. Something about this just seemed like something a little girl would wear. This was a no for me.

I’m thinking, skip the hem ruffle and do a double sleeve ruffle. Maybe a curved hem. We’ll see.

AI also suggested a full lace sleeve.

Again, this is lovely, but I don’t have a lace that co-ordinates like the RTW top does and I don’t have this lace. So I’ll skip this idea too.

I do have to say I’ve been having fun playing with AI and ideas.

Lastly, I saw a lovely bra, and a feature I really adored on it.      I love that mesh above the cups. I don’t see a seam along the upper cup so don’t know if the mesh is covering the whole of the cups are not. But the mesh is finished with FOE that runs up the straps. Well, we can all do that.

I wasn’t content looking at just the one bra to see how that mesh was working, so I looked at another color. I can see much better with this one below. Oh I can see all the seams now. This could even be finished with the FOE ending where the strap seam starts. This is just lovely and I’m going to play with this idea. Who knows, maybe even play with foam.
