Many of the panties I’ve made in the past are still in good shape. I have beige, ivory, black and a few other colors all still doing well. But I didn’t have any turquoise. So I needed some matchy matchy panties.
I had some turquoise cotton Lyrcra in my stash, and some turquoise stretch lace trim.
Of course I reached for my two favorite panty patterns. The House Morrighan Clover Boy Brief and the Kwik Sew 2286.
Let’s start with the Clover briefs.
These are my favorite hipster. It’s a modern hipster, and as soon as HM is selling her patterns again, I’ll let you know.
Yes, I do love this pattern. I like how it looks a bit like a boy short, but it’s not sewn together the same a boy short is. It also fits me a lot better than boy shorts.
My next favorite panty pattern is an older one, and you might be able to find it on Ebay, or Etsy. It’s the Kwik Sew 2286 pattern.
Yes definitely an older style of hipster, but I still love it.
These both came together easily, and I’m happy with them both.
Now, onto my sloper progress.
The Sure Fit Designs sloper does not fit so well.
Both my friend and I have the bust point too low. I’m thinking since we were working together, we both made the same mistake. So I need to raise the bust, but I’m also thinking this is too big.
Back to the drawing board on this one.
Happy creating!
I love turquoise. And I’m loving my two new turquoise bras.

Next I need some turquoise panties. I don’t have any of those in the panty drawer.
I have a coral one all cut out that I’ll share with you next week. But this month Bwear has this lace with a red bra kit.
That makes such a difference in how this is fitting. I’m such a happy bra-maker right now.
So those two small changes have really made a big difference in how this fits, and I’m thrilled.
For this bra I used some gorgeous lace and findings from Bwear, and part of a turquoise kit from BMS. I have just enough duo and power net to make a second bra from that kit. Stay tuned for that next turquoise bra.
This lace is beautiful. I wish I had a coral bra kit to pull those colors out of it. Red would work too, but as soon as I saw the blue, I knew what I wanted. I love turquoise.
I chose a bright fun pattern for summer wear. And I love these.
Yes I know that’s really hard to see.
I really do love this pattern, and these pants. I wore them out to go to yard sales after this photo was taken.
I have to say, of the three slopers I’ve made so far, this one has been the easiest and quickest to come together.
The benefit of this sloper is there is a class to go along with it. You can watch Suzy draft one and I find that really helpful. Craftsy also often has deals for joining. And I definitely recommend this class.

As well there is an

I realized while going through my sewing resources I also have the

Here’s a stock photo from the class of the back. I did the back three times and it’s still not coming together correctly.
This book helped us. It had a few steps included that her class notes didn’t have. So we were off and going.
I had to cut into some quilting fabric I had because I didn’t have enough muslin fabric. So I have a very pretty sloper now.
I’m actually so happy with how this fits, and how pretty it is. I’m almost thinking of adding sleeves and buttons to the front to make it an actual blouse.
Ah, but the back… Here it doesn’t look so pretty. I guess a sloper it will stay.
I carefully cut along the side of the lace where it meets the power bar.
There’s the smallest pucker there, but it will fit better. I can adjust my pattern for next time.
Although I’m sure the zigzag stitch will hold everything, I did sew a straight stitch on the top at the edge so there was no gape where I’d cut the lace.
